Azalea Blooming Season

The blooming of Azaleas within the Kesen Region is one of the major events which colors the mountain sides amidst the call of spring. The vibrant colors varying from pink and orange brightens the path up to the peak of Mt. Goyo and Mt. Imade. Additionally, Azaleas can be found in various mountain paths, such as the Michinoku Coastal Trail on the border of Ofunato City and Kamaishi City called "Kuwadai Pass." For those interested in visiting Mt. Goyo: - Parking Lot location (https://goo.gl/maps/qAEDMDXWZTYdXK1GA) - Hike Path Entrance is located across the road - A relatively large parking lot with a public bathroom (Note: The climb up to the peak may take around 2hrs with relatively steep paths in the latter half. But the Azalea field located between the 3rd and 4th point will only take about an hour to reach.) For those interested in visiting Mt. Imade: - Parking Lot location (https://goo.gl/maps/FHz3m7jpPbAtiMZy8) - Road is not completely paved, and is made out of gravel - A relatively large parking lot with a resting house (Note: The climb up to the peak from the parking lot is short and relatively simple.)
